Web design and development · Rock Hill, Fort Mill, York County, Charlotte

A website built to be found, built to convert, and measured from the first visitor.

Most small business sites are a brochure nobody finds. This is a different thing: a fast, well-built site with a page for each service and each town you serve, the technical foundation Google needs to show you for "near me" searches, and analytics that count every call, form and booking it produces. Fixed price, two to three weeks, domain and source in your name.

What is included

What every site includes, and what each part does for your business.

A website earns its price in two ways: it shows up when someone in your area searches for what you do, and it turns that visit into a call or a booking. Everything below exists to do one of those two jobs, and the analytics tell you how well it is doing them.

Structure and copy built from real searches

The page plan starts with what your customers type into Google and what they need to know before they call. A business with five services in three towns can rank for fifteen searches, but only if each one has a page; a single "services" page ranks for none of them. I write or edit every page so it says something specific about your business, in the words customers use.

  • Page plan built around your services and your area
  • Copywriting or editing for every page
  • Photo direction, or selection and editing of what you have

Fast, well-built, mobile first

Speed is a ranking factor and a conversion factor: a site that takes four seconds to load loses the visitor and the position. These are built as clean, fast pages on modern hosting rather than a page-builder template, so they score well on Google's speed tests, read properly on a phone, and stay that way as pages are added.

  • Custom design, mobile first, accessible by default
  • Fast hosting with a free SSL certificate and a global CDN
  • Forms, click-to-call, maps, hours and directions that work correctly on every phone

Local search foundation

The difference between a site that exists and one that shows up. Titles, headings, LocalBusiness schema, a sitemap, Search Console and a connected Google Business Profile are the signals Google reads to decide who appears for "near me" searches. Every site launches with all of them in place, not as an add-on later.

  • Titles, descriptions and headings for each service and town you serve
  • LocalBusiness schema, sitemap, robots and Search Console setup
  • Google Business Profile review and a plan for reviews

Analytics, ownership and handoff

From the first visitor you know how many calls, forms, bookings and direction requests the site produced, by page and by search. That number tells you whether the site is paying for itself and what to fix next, and it is the reason a well-built site keeps getting better instead of slowly going stale. All of it sits in accounts in your name, with your domain and your source.

  • Google Analytics and Search Console set up in your name, with calls, forms, bookings and directions counted as conversions
  • Written guide for hours, prices, staff, photos and announcements
  • Optional monthly care: edits, monitoring, backups, hosting, and a one-page report

Project types

Common projects and what they are for.

New site for a business without one

You have a Facebook page and a phone number and you are losing the customers who Google first. A focused five to eight page site with your services, your area, reviews and a way to reach you.

Rebuild of a dated or slow site

The site was built years ago on WordPress or a page builder, loads slowly, looks off on phones and nobody knows the login. Keep what works, rebuild the rest, migrate the domain without losing rankings.

School, childcare or program site

Programs, schedules, tuition, enrollment or waitlist forms, staff pages and the answers parents look for at 10pm. Built to be warm, clear and fast, with enrollment status, announcements and staff changes editable by your team from a phone. Usually Package 3.

Booking and appointment sites

Spas, salons, clinics, trainers and studios: services, pricing, and a booking flow that hands off cleanly to the scheduling tool you already use, with tracking on the booking clicks.

Small e-commerce

A product catalog with checkout, tax and shipping handled correctly, and the marketing hooks in place: email capture, reviews, analytics, ad pixels. Shopify or a custom build depending on what you sell. Online store package →

Landing pages and microsites

One page for one purpose: a campaign, a seasonal service, a new location, an event, a launch. Fast to build, built to convert, measured from the first visitor.

Packages

Three packages, fixed prices, set in writing after one call.

Most local businesses fit one of these. Your quote is a single number in a one-page scope and does not change unless the scope does. Typical ranges below; the exact figure depends on page count, how much copy is written from scratch, and integrations.

Package 1

Basic site

From $2,400 · up to 5 pages · 2 weeks

For: a business with one main service and one location that is losing the customers who Google first. Often replacing a Facebook page or a site nobody has touched since 2018.

Outcome: you show up for your name and your main service in your town, the site loads and reads correctly on a phone, and every call and form from it is counted.

  • Home, services, about, contact, plus one page (reviews, gallery, FAQ or a second service)
  • Copy edited from what you have; photo selection and light editing
  • Click-to-call, contact form, map, hours, directions
  • Local search foundation: titles, descriptions, LocalBusiness schema, sitemap, Search Console
  • Analytics on calls and form submissions
  • Domain and hosting in your name; written edit guide; 30 days of fixes

Cap: 5 pages. Additional pages $350 each, written and built to match.

Package 3

Custom site or online store

From $8,500 · up to 20 pages, or a 40-product store · 4 to 6 weeks

For: schools and childcare centers, multi-program or multi-location businesses, and anyone selling online. Sites where the content changes every week and the team needs to change it themselves.

Outcome: your staff update announcements, dates, program status and team pages from a phone in two minutes, so the site stays current without a developer, and a store takes orders correctly from day one.

  • Everything in Full, at 12 to 20 pages, every word written from scratch
  • Content system your team edits from a phone: announcements, program or service status, key dates, seasonal banners, staff changes
  • Integrations: forms with instant text and email notification, live Google reviews, social feeds, booking or enrollment tools
  • Accessibility to WCAG 2.1 AA, 301 redirects that preserve rankings, security headers
  • Two training sessions and an illustrated guide, so a staff change is a two-minute task
  • Online stores: Shopify or custom, catalog, checkout, email flows, revenue tracking (detail →)
  • First three months of the Managed care plan included

Cap: 20 pages for a custom site, or 40 products (up to 6 variants each) plus 6 content pages for a store. Additional pages $350 each; additional products $120 per 10.

Payment terms, every package: 25% at kickoff, 25% when you approve the design, 50% at launch, invoiced at each step and paid by check or bank transfer. Care plans begin after any included period, bill monthly, and end with 30 days' notice. If a project pauses on your side for more than 30 days, the work completed is invoiced and the project resumes when you are ready. You own the domain, the hosting account, the content and the source on final payment.

Add-ons

  • Care plan, Essentials $125 a month: hosting, monitoring, backups, security updates, up to two hours of edits
  • Care plan, Managed $195 a month: Essentials plus seasonal banner swaps, monthly photo publishing to the site and Google profile, two Google posts, drafted review responses, and a one-page report on inquiries, rating, search positions and traffic
  • Google Business Profile setup, $500: for Basic sites; included in Full and Custom
  • Additional pages, $350 each: written and built to match
  • Half-day photo session, $600: a shot list built from the site plan, shot on site, selected and edited. Fills what your own photos do not cover
  • Migration of existing content, from $500: pulling and cleaning pages, posts and images from your current site

Less common items, such as a logo refresh or coordinating a professional photographer, are quoted in the scope when they come up.

What is not in the price

  • Domain registration and renewals, billed at cost in your name (around $15 a year)
  • Third-party subscriptions you choose to use: Shopify plan, booking software, paid email tools
  • Stock photography or a photographer's fee (a local half-day runs about $800 to $1,500)
  • Ongoing content writing, link building or campaign management, which are marketing engagements
  • Custom software beyond the store or booking flow, which is scoped separately

Everything above is stated in the scope before you sign, so the invoice matches the quote.

Content and photos

You do not write the pages. Here is what you do instead.

Most website projects run late waiting on the owner to write copy and find photos. This one is set up so that does not happen, and your part takes about two hours in total.

1. A short Content Kit

At kickoff you get a one-page facts sheet, a services worksheet and a photo list matched to the page plan. Mostly checkboxes and things you already know. About an hour.

2. One interview, and I write

A 45 to 60 minute conversation where I ask about each service the way a customer would. I write every page from it. You review a draft once and correct facts, not prose.

3. Photos, three ways

Your own photos, curated and corrected; a half-day session with me; or a local photographer I coordinate. Two real photos of your team and your workspace outperform twenty stock images, so real is the default.

The scope sets the date the kit and photos are due. Missing items do not hold the build; pages go live with what exists and the rest is added when it arrives. The full process, the photo standard and the templates are in the Content Kit you receive at kickoff.

Analytics and tracking

Every site launches knowing what a lead is worth.

Tracking is set up before launch, in accounts in your name, so from the first visitor you can see what the site produces, not just how many people looked at it.

Every package

Google Analytics and Search Console in your name, with the actions that matter counted as conversions: phone taps, form submissions, direction requests, booking or quote clicks. Your Google Business Profile is connected so calls from the profile count too.

Full site adds

Search positions tracked for each service in each town you serve, and which pages and searches produced which inquiries. A 60-day report gives you the numbers and the next two fixes.

Custom site and store add

Enrollment or tour requests by program, or purchases and revenue by product, collection and channel, with email flow performance. Ad pixels only when a campaign exists.

On the Managed care plan you get a one-page monthly report and a flag when something breaks or drops. Everything is in your accounts; if we stop working together, the history stays with you.

How it is built

Built to stay fast, to keep ranking, and to remain yours.

Most sites I build are static or lightly dynamic pages on Firebase or Vercel with a global CDN, which is why they score well on speed tests, hold their search positions as they grow, and cost almost nothing to host. For content-heavy sites I use Next.js with a simple content structure. For online stores, Shopify is usually the right answer and I will say so. What you will not get is a proprietary builder that makes your site slow and makes leaving expensive.

The same engineering that built the Prepwell app, with its payments, integrations and app store submissions, is behind every small business site. That matters less on day one than on the day you want a customer portal or an online store and the site can actually grow into it.

Discovery call

30 minutes on your business, your customers and what the site has to do. You get a fixed quote within two business days.

Content and structure

Page plan, copy drafts and photo direction in week one. You review once, I revise once, we lock it.

Design and build

Working site on a private link in week two. You click through on your phone and send notes.

Launch and handoff

Domain connected, analytics live, Business Profile linked, edit guide delivered. 30 days of fixes included.

Local

Local knowledge, in person when it helps.

I live and work in York County. That shows up in the work: service and area pages that match how Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Lake Wylie and Rock Hill customers actually search, campaigns that separate Indian Land from Ballantyne intent, and a realistic read on how much competition a Charlotte business faces versus one on Cherry Road. It also means discovery and reviews can happen in person.

Questions

Common questions.

How much does a small business website cost in Rock Hill?

Most small business sites I build land between $2,400 and $6,000 depending on page count, how much copy is written from scratch, and integrations. Custom sites and online stores start at $8,500. Every project is quoted as a fixed price after a short call, so there are no hourly surprises. Here is a longer breakdown.

How long does it take?

Two to three weeks for a typical five to eight page site once we have your content and photos, and I help produce both. E-commerce and custom features add time, which is set in the scope.

Will I be able to update the site myself?

Yes. Every site ships with a short written guide covering the edits you will actually make: hours, staff, prices, photos, announcements. If you would rather not touch it, a monthly care plan covers edits, hosting and monitoring.

Do you do SEO?

Every site includes the foundation: fast load times, correct page structure, titles and descriptions, local business schema, a Google Business Profile review and a sitemap. Ongoing content and link work is available as a marketing engagement.

How do payments work?

Three invoices: 25% at kickoff, 25% when you approve the design, 50% at launch, paid by check or bank transfer. Care plans bill monthly after any included period and end with 30 days' notice. There is no long-term contract on any package.

Do I own the site?

Yes. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting account is yours, and you receive the full source. There is no proprietary platform holding your site hostage.

Can you fix or improve my existing site instead of rebuilding it?

Often, yes. A refresh keeps your structure and content and fixes speed, mobile layout, outdated design and missing SEO basics. I will tell you honestly when a rebuild is cheaper than a repair.

Start with a 30-minute call.

Describe the problem in a few lines. You get a reply within one business day, a clear read on fit, and a written scope within two business days if it makes sense to proceed.
