Work

Selected engagements and what they produced.

Three from the past year as an independent, and two from a decade leading commercial work inside a supplement manufacturer. Each one states the problem, what I did, and the result.

Prepwell: a macro meal planning app, built and launched solo.

The problem. People who track macros spend hours every week turning targets into meals and meals into a grocery list, then still overbuy. Existing apps track what you ate; almost none plan what you will eat and hand you the cart.

What I did. Everything. Product definition, a planning engine that builds a week of portioned meals from calorie and macro targets, dietary restrictions, household size and budget; AI photo recognition for logging; recipe import from URLs and social posts; a shopping list with package-level quantities; Instacart and Kroger ordering integrations; subscriptions through RevenueCat; Firebase backend with usage cost controls; the marketing site, press kit, legal pages and store listings; and both app store submissions, including four rounds of Apple review feedback.

Result. Live on Google Play with recurring affiliate revenue from grocery orders, iOS in App Store review, and a 12-week go-to-market plan with weekly acquisition targets ready for launch. The most useful outcome for clients: I know what it takes to ship a product with payments, third-party integrations and AI features that have to be reliable and affordable in production.

E-commerce and marketing · Rock Hill, SC · 2025 to present

Refined with Caroline: from first online sale to a marketing engine for the spa.

The problem. A Rock Hill esthetician with a loyal in-person clientele wanted to sell the skincare and beauty products she recommends, and to reach new clients without a big ad budget.

What I did. Built the store and catalog, set up analytics and conversion tracking on the events that matter (purchases and booking clicks), then ran Google search campaigns on the terms local customers actually type, at $2 a day per campaign with a $60 monthly cap. Social content and SEO alongside. Regular audits of what the numbers really mean, including confirming what a "conversion" counted before anyone raised a budget.

Result. First sale to recurring revenue in six months. The top campaign runs at a click-through rate around three times the search norm, with booking-intent clicks at $14 to $17 against services priced $115 to $350. The same marketing now drives in-store bookings and purchases worth more than double the online sales.

Website · Childcare center · Rock Hill, SC · 2026

Carolina Academy Child Development Center: a forty-year institution, a site parents can use on a phone.

The problem. A locally owned daycare that has cared for two generations of Rock Hill families had a WordPress site that was slow, dated, and hard to update, with a logo that turned to a smudge at small sizes and program information parents could not find at 10pm.

What I did. A 16-page rebuild with every word written from scratch: home, about, curriculum, seven program pages by age group with FAQs and next-room links, tuition, tour, team, FAQ, careers and contact. A content system the office edits from a phone: alert banner, enrollment status per program, key dates, seasonal banners, staff changes. The tour form rebuilt with instant text and email notification to the office (including the carrier registration that texting a business requires), an auto-updating Google reviews widget, a live Instagram feed, WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, 301 redirects to protect existing rankings, Google Business Profile optimization, and two training sessions with an illustrated guide. Before any of that: a competitive audit of area centers and brand guidelines documenting the existing identity as a web design system.

Result. On staging with all content pages live as of late September 2026, launch pending the client's final content confirmations. Ask for the link and I will send it.

Supplement industry · Nutramax Laboratories · 2016 to 2025

Building an international supplement business from one agreement to 22 markets.

The problem. Nutramax Laboratories, the company behind Cosequin, had a dominant US position in companion animal health supplements and almost no international presence. Every market had a different regulatory path, channel structure and competitive picture, and the company had limited internal resources to commit.

What I did. Over five roles: owned international product strategy and launched the company's first multilingual, Health Canada compliant packaging; secured an exclusive Canadian agent and placed Cosequin in Costco Canada; built a 90+ SKU international portfolio; onboarded 15 exclusive distribution partners across Europe and Asia-Pacific under a selective distribution network; established EU contract manufacturing, laboratory testing and logistics; launched on Amazon in Canada, the UK, Spain, France and Germany; built distributor toolkits, training and co-op programs; then led the 12-month transition from direct distribution to a licensing model. As Commercial Chief of Staff, set up the S&OP process and monthly operating cadence and recruited six commercial leaders. Finally, as Senior Manager of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, designed and implemented the new product stage gate now used across 30+ projects and negotiated exclusive technology and supply agreements with global partners.

Result. Canada to $1M+ in the first year of focus; 20%+ CAGR to a $10M portfolio within five years; $20M+ in wholesale under management at handoff; the licensing transition completed with no market disruption.

Marketing · Healthcare accreditation · 2013 to 2016

Launching the industry's first compounding pharmacy accreditation program.

The problem. Compounding pharmacy safety was under national scrutiny after a deadly outbreak, and no accreditation program existed to help pharmacies demonstrate quality or help buyers tell the good ones apart.

What I did. As a marketing associate and then senior associate at a national accreditation organization, I owned marketing strategy and execution for half the portfolio (pharmacy, durable medical equipment and sleep programs) and led the marketing launch of the compounding program: positioning the organization as the authority, collateral, press strategy and coverage, and presenting the initiatives directly to the board.

Result. A first-to-market program launched into a moment of national attention with the organization positioned as the trusted standard. And an early lesson that still shapes the marketing work: authority is built by being specific and useful at the moment people are looking for an answer.
